What I'm doing now

Jun 14, 2025

Currently, I’m designing at Nebraska Medicine here in Omaha, where I’m the one-person UX team. Yep, it’s just me, some Figma files, and a lot of empathy maps. Being a solo designer has its perks: I get to wear all the hats, make big decisions, and work directly with stakeholders. But it also means juggling priorities, advocating for design constantly, and learning how to work with constraints (like EHRs that look like they were built in 1998). Designing for healthcare has taught me that every interaction counts, especially when your users are patients, families, and frontline care teams.

Outside of work, life’s been feeling pretty full lately. I recently got married (!!) and traveling with a partner is just...better. There’s something extra wholesome about shared playlists, arguing over snacks, and figuring out which side of the bed belongs to who, all across different cities.

I also started running, which is a sentence I never thought I’d say. It’s been a small but powerful shift in my routine. I’m not training for a marathon (yet), but getting fresh air, breaking a sweat, and outrunning my inbox has made a difference.

Next up: I’m attending my first American wedding! As someone used to multi-day Desi weddings with dhol, dozens of outfit changes, and never-ending buffets, I’m curious to see how this one plays out. Will I dance? Probably. Will it last five days? Definitely not. But I’m excited for the experience, and to see love celebrated in a whole new cultural context.

More updates soon or catch me on a trail, at a wedding, or somewhere trying to explain what a mehndi is.
